In over 15 years in the AV industry mark has become a seasoned campaigner, playing a key role in the success of thousands of successful events.
If experience has shown him anything, it’s the importance of remaining calm and helpful, regardless of what’s going on around him – in fact he has quite a reputation for never getting flustered.
Mark is also more than happy to play a key role in the creative side of event management and gets involved in everything from room dressing to sound design.
In his spare time Mark can occasionally be found up to his waist in rivers pursuing elusive salmon or, more often, travelling round Britain to catch up with favourite musicians including Tift Merrit, Jason Mraz, Ron Sexsmith, Roddy Woomble and Counting Crows.
Drew’s our senior technician whose specialities include programming lighting desks including Avolites and Hogs and maintaining and running moving lights. He’s pretty good at the sound side of things as well and when he’s not out on the road he’s also a dab hand at maintaining our equipment too.
Before joining AV Matrix Drew spent four seasons as a counsellor in American summer camps, but now he’s turned his back on the world of little league baseball and marshmallows toasted on an open fire to concentrate on the AV world instead.
Away from work he’s a keen photographer and is something of a Jenson Button in the world of high powered Radio Controlled Cars.
As our Managing Director’s mother, Mabel has kept a close eye on his financial affairs ever since she started giving him pocket money as a boy.
This has set her in good stead to keep an eagle eye on the finances at AV Matrix.
Though she only works one day a week in the office, Mabel is meticulous in making sure invoices are issued and paid on time – and in keeping on top of every other aspect of the company’s money matters too.
Ruth’s role is to make sure that all the administration and organisation for events goes smoothly and liaises between our clients and the AV Matrix team. Supremely organised and very efficient, Ruth’s also in charge of keeping everyone at AV Matrix in line.
Her hobbies include, baking, cooking and her carrot cake has been (unofficially) rated as one of the country’s best! During the lambing season Ruth can be found on her family’s farm helping to give her father and brother’s some well-earned rest.
Sean has worked for AV matrix for X years and in this time he’s gained a wealth of knowledge about the equipment we supply and how to get the very most from it. He’s also become a highly valued of the team, trusted by all our clients to get the job done.
Onsite Event Co-Ordinator
Sean is responsible for running our teams of technicians and ensuring that every event runs to plan.
In his spare time, Sean keeps his footballing options open on both sides of the Pennines by supporting both Liverpool and Leeds United – and when he’s not at a match he likes spending time with family and friends in Harrogate.
Edward K is our “go-to” man when it comes to conferences.
His duties range from setting up the equipment to making sure that everything’s ready to run right on cue.
When he’s not putting everything together to make a successful conference there’s nothing he likes more than following the instructions for flat pack furniture and carrying out other, less demanding, DIY tasks.
As our General Technician Edward gets his chance to try his hand at most things at many different kinds of events.
Wherever he’s working, you can rely on him to do the very best job possible whether it’s setting up a sound system at a wedding reception or making sure that all the lighting’s going to work perfectly at a major sales presentation
His technical expertise is well exercised outside work too where he indulges in his passion for modifying cars.
