A positive start to 2010

Well the start of 2010 sees AV Matrix heading out stronger than ever.
Mark and the ever expanding team have taken over New premises in North Yorkshire, 4 times bigger than the previous warehouse, the builders have been in for 6 weeks, new offices, meeting rooms and a mezzanine level, are but a few additions.

It’s not just premises, MD Mark Parker has taken on Pete Sharman as head of Technical. Pete, a graduate of LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts). Pete originally trained in precision engineering before moving to the event industry in 1999. The last 11 years has seen Pete on a variety of events from large festivals such as T-in the park and touring with the darling of British folk, Kate Rusby.

Also joining the team is Lauren Barker, another graduate of LIPA, Lauren's expertise lies within set design, lighting design and room dressing. In the past Lauren has worked on many large events for clients such as Nokia, ING, HSBC and having just come off an extensive Peroni european tour she will now be heading up our design team.

Event manager Edward Clarke has been with the company a little over 6 months, in this time Ed has a growing reputation for efficiency and precise management, something which the clients are all picking up on.

It's not just premises and personnel, AV Matrix have been investing heavily in new technology. Speaker manufacturer Nexo are at the forefront of speaker design and technology, AV Matrix have been big users of Nexo in the past and this seems like a trend set to continue, with the arrival of Nexo’s new PS-R2 range. 22 PS-RS2 cabinets have been added to the stock. These are possibly the best sounding speakers on the market; coupled with Nexo’s new digital amplifiers they offer a truly amazing sound quality, all produced from small compact and discreet speakers. All AV Matrix amp racks (that’s quite a lot going by the amount of flight cases!) are due to be upgraded to Nexo’s new amplifiers. Also getting the upgrade treatment is the huge stock of radio mics, The list doesn’t stop there, 3 new large venue projectors and lenses from Panasonic, with edge blending technology.

The equipment has been put through its paces many times but a recent event at Sheffield City Hall saw the team deliver one of the best events to date.
